Wishing for a star ... i mean spar ...

First week of the new year is reaching an end. I've been so busy since the beginning of the year, can't imagine the rest of the days, weeks, months ....

On Leave

Now that i got some time to write, it's already the end of the year !
I had last minute took a few days leave, but couldn't get any desired travel plans, thus spent these days shopping (there's so many sale here and there, spent $300+ just at Robinsons yesterday) and spring-clearning instead.

There's still no plans on how to celebrate the coming new year 2008 ... sianz ...

A Memorable Day at Kent Ridge Park

Today is Hari Raya Puasa (new year for the Malays). Brought my mom to Kent Ridge Park. (A friend brought us here before) We decided to pack dinner and eat out in the open ! This is really a memorable day - dining in the open, fighting off ants and mosquitoes and worse of all - we forgot to ask for the disposable utensils for our packed food ! If you see properly from the pic, the corners of the foam box were all torn. They had become our spoons !

After our outdoor dining, we walked around the park. Here's one of the sea view. How i wished i stayed in one of those private housing facing the sea in the picture ...

Really loved the nature, off course minus the mosquitoes! ^^

A day out with Yuki

Brought Yuki to East Coast Park. She practically jumped and hopped around the house when i told her i'll be bringing her out "Gai Gai" in the morning!

See her radiant smile as she pose for me! ^^






Many people also brought their dogs to the park for walks, or even just resting by the pond reading the morning papers !

Additional Portfolio

I'm pretty excited with my new, additional portfolio - Knowledge Management! I will also be working very closely now with my ex-colleagues as I had just moved back to my previous department!

On the other hand, I foresee that I will be busier and probably working OTs. Hope I will still have time to blog ...

Yuki's Bear Cut

Gave Yuki a "teddy bear" cut on her usual grooming day. Somehow, she ignored me for the rest of the day after returning from the pet shop.

The Unluckiest Day

I was early for the "Ladder of Inspiration" course today. Course starts at 8:30am, I had arrived around 7:50am.

I sms a HR colleague whom I knew and was so glad we are at the same course! No reply from her ...

I waited till 8:35am and still see none of my course mates. I called my HR colleague. No answer ...

Then, RinGGgggg .... my handphone rang. Damn, the course was cancelled and i was not notified! I only did not check my emails yesterday, and that's the day an email was sent notifying participants that the course is to be postponed as the initial training area is reported to have dengue fever cases recently.

Arghhhh ....

So I'm supposed to go back to work. BUT, i had brought my laptop home as this whole week, i'm on course thus wouldn't need to go back to office. Damn! So i took a cab home. It cost me $20 bucks !! expensive !!

Just when I'm turning into the drop-off lobby at my flat, i blurted out "Oh shit, my home keys are at my mom's home!"

Arghhhh .... Arghhhh .... Arghhhh .... Arghhhh ....

For the sake of dollars and cents, a company will usually advertise all the good things about their product(s).

Take tea for example, green tea has a lot of antioxidants & good in preventing cancer; different fruit tea has different healing effects such as aiding in sleep, relaxation, headaches, etc

How many of them actually spell out the side effects of tea ?

Tea has caffine (a stimulant), which may cause you to feel restless, nervous, flushed face, gastrointestinal disturbance, rambling flow of thought and speech, hinder your DNA repair, etc.

Recently, I've been mesmerised by the advertisement of a new Shampoo that prevents hair fall & split ends. ^^ Without second thought, I bought the Shampoo, the biggest bottle somemore. (no, no, i'm not kiasu ... but this particular shampoo only have 1 size lor - the biggest bottle!)

While I was unwrapping the plastic material securing the pump, the 'ingredients' of the shampoo caught my eye. First in the line - water, second - SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate ) ...

OMG !!

I remembered reading about SLS being a slow toxic that is found in many of our shampoo, bubble bath, toothpaste, etc and many of us were not aware of its harm. Yeeewwwwwww, I must have been using my current SLS-free shampoo for too long till i forgot about this totally!

The advertisement had really got into me. Aiyoh, I must be wiser in my purchases next time & read the fine lines ... (",)
