A series of unfortunate incidents keep happening to me lately =(
For the past few days, we found a lot of hollowness underneath the homogenous tiles in my living room area. Thus, we arranged a HDB (Housing Development Board) officer to assess the situation on 23rd Nov. Indeed, many of the tiles are hollow underneath and we both agreed to replace all the tiles on 16 Jan 2006, the earliest date that the officer can schedule.
Some background ... we've got a HDB Premium flat. Premium flats means HDB will pre-lay all the tiles in the whole unit, conceal the sewage pipes in the toilets, uses decorative wooden doors, etc.
A couple of minutes before midnight on 24th Nov, while my hubby is in the kitchen and I'm in the living room .. there's a sudden weird noise. It sounds as if someone dropped a bag of pebbles/ marbles on the floor and the sound waves ripples ... Yuki was circulating the living room wondering where the noise came from.
Before we know it, the tiles in front of us popped! It started from the centre and stretched all the way to the end of the wall. Before we can recover from our shock, tiles perpendicular to it started to pop as well !
We had to spend the next 3 hours shifting our furniture into the bedrooms. I felt like a zombie when going to work the next day. If it has not been for the training that I had to conduct the next morning, I would have applied urgent leave to sleep at home !
Having only about 3 hours of sleep & being in a blur state, everything around me passes by vividly the next morning. I was almost late again hence i'll usually dump my earrings & accesories into my handbag so that i could put them on when i settled down in the bus. However, i couldn't find my favourite chomel black laced rose brooch anywhere. The studs to one of my earrings was also missing. Sob ~ Sob ~ looks like they must have dropped out of my bag during my rush. sob ~ sob ~
What else could go wrong ? ...
I closed my office drawer with my index finger in it too! OUCH ! sob ~ sob ~

wrote a complaint letter the very next Mon ... the person in charge called the next day .. say can brought fwd to 22nd Dec.
so, they can say they had brought fwd the date liao ... what else can we say ?!?

Yes, it's finally over BUT now my neighbours' turn !!! I was on leave last Monday but had to get out of the us because the unit abv us and 2 units on the same flr are undergoing tiles replacement all at the same time ! Arghhhh ... can u imagine all the drilling, banging (till some of my lightings metal structure dropped!) and dust !
