A Different Beginning

I was invited to a BBQ on 31 Dec 05 to celebrate the coming New Year 2006 ! I have been looking forward to it as the venue is going to be along a roadside, with Malaysia as our front view (though it's an industrial sight) and Seletar resevoir as our backdrop !

It was a rainy day on the last day of 2005 but somehow the rain stops in the late evening, just in time for our BBQ to start ! I'm very surprised that many people knew of this place (and I had never known it existed in the first place!). Both sides of the road were filled up with cars, lorries, vans and bikes by 8pm !

We had plenty of seafood ! Some of my friends even went all the way to West Coast to purchase live tiger prawns, flower crab and scallop (yes, those with the shells still on them!) ! One of them brought along his Martell to drunk the prawns alive before we BBQ the drunken prawns ! *Slurp* this is the first time I BBQed fresh scallops - they'll drop off their shell when cooked !

I would say this is the best BBQ (hee ... in terms of food) that I had been to in my life. Unfortunately, I had yet to get to know better this group of new friends to make it an unforgetable one. =P
